About DK Express Cargo

A 70-truck dry and refrigerated carrier running dispatch out of one office in Stockton

DK Express Cargo Inc. is an over-the-road carrier based in Stockton, California, founded in 1997 under CEO Daljit Singh. The fleet runs dry van and refrigerated loads for customers in California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Alabama.

At 70+ trucks, 100+ trailers, and more than 50 active clients across 11 states, DK Express's dispatch volume had outgrown a TMS that only ran on machines inside a single office, with no live feed from the trucks themselves.

The Challenge

Load status tracked by phone call and manual entry, on software installed on two office computers

DK Express ran dispatch, tracking, and billing on an on-premise TMS licensed to specific machines at its Stockton office. That architecture created three specific operational problems as the fleet grew past 70 trucks running loads across 11 states.

Office-only access

The TMS was installed locally on office machines, not hosted online. A dispatcher working past close, a manager checking a load from the road, or an accounting employee at home had no way into the system.

No live load data

The system had no feed from ELDs or any tracking source. A load's status was only as current as the last person who typed it manually, a broker asking for an ETA meant calling the driver, writing down the answer, then calling back.

Weeks of training, partial adoption

New dispatchers needed weeks of hands-on training before they could manage a load without help. Even trained staff avoided parts of the interface, pushing work into phone calls and spreadsheets outside the TMS.

Not having the ability to access our TMS across multiple platforms. Being constrained to computers with installed versions of outdated TMS.

On the previous on-premise TMS

DK Express retired the on-premise system entirely and moved dispatch, tracking, and billing onto LoadStop's cloud-based TMS.

The LoadStop Solution

From an On-Premise TMS to an AI-First Cloud TMS

DK Express moved off its on-premise TMS onto LoadStop's cloud platform, and has since expanded onto the AI modules built on that same cloud foundation, replacing manual calls, data entry, and document checks the legacy system left to the team.

The Results

Four changes to how dispatch, tracking, and billing actually run

Moving load data off a single-office install and onto LoadStop's cloud and AI platform changed four specific parts of DK Express's operation.

Faster decisions

Dispatch and management pull the same load data from any device instead of routing every check through the office system, cutting the calls needed just to confirm a location or status.

Live ETAs

A status inquiry gets answered from AI Tracking's live ELD data instead of 'let me call the driver and get back to you,' changing what a customer or broker hears when they ask where a load is.

Faster ramp-up

New dispatchers enter and manage a load independently without the multi-week training the old interface required, and work pushed into spreadsheets moved back into the TMS.

Lower duplicated cost

Time previously spent re-entering the same load data across the TMS, spreadsheets, and phone calls got redirected into other operational work.

What DK Express has seen since switching

The technology behind DK Express Cargo's results

DK Express runs on the same cloud and AI platform used across LoadStop's carrier network, where fleets of a similar size and setup report:

95%

tracking compliance with real-time visibility across the fleet

40%

fewer late deliveries with real-time tracking and predictive alerts

dispatcher productivity once workflows move off manual, office-bound processes

30%

lift in operational efficiency from a single, unified platform
